What it is
What is Misu?
Five whole foods — brown rice, white rice, hominy corn, black bean and barley — roasted separately, milled fine, and whisked into milk like matcha. One 20 g scoop is ready to mix with your preferred milk.
Is it a protein powder?
No. Misu is a blend of roasted grains and beans, with no isolated protein added. If you are chasing 25 g of protein, buy a protein powder — this is not competing for that job.
Will it keep me satisfied?
With milk it sits like a proper small breakfast, and the fiber and protein slow the carbohydrate down so it lasts longer than a pastry. It is a start to the morning rather than a replacement for lunch.
Why call it a superfood?
Because the useful things are still inside the food. Fiber from three separate plants, plant protein from a whole legume, and carbohydrate that arrives with both — none of it extracted, concentrated or added back.
Is this a treatment for anything?
No. Misu is a conventional food. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and anyone telling you a breakfast drink does that is selling you something.
Taste & making it
What does it taste like?
Deeply nutty and malty, with a long toasted finish and no bitterness. The aroma when the pouch opens is the part people mention first.
Is it sweet?
No. There is no added sugar or sweetener in it. The grains and beans contain naturally occurring sugars. The nuttiness is strong enough that people often read it as sweetness on the first glass, which is the nicest possible mistake to make about a drink with nothing added.
How do I make it?
Like matcha, and for the same reason. One scoop into a glass, a splash of hot water — just enough to cover it — then froth for about ten seconds until it turns glossy. Pour that paste into cold milk over ice, or top it up with hot. The paste-first step is why it goes smooth instead of lumpy.
Do I need the frother?
You need something that makes a paste. The frother is the easiest and it comes free with your first box. A small whisk works, and so does a jar with a lid and ten seconds of shaking.
What should I mix it with?
Anything you would put coffee in. Oat milk is the most common answer, whole milk is the richest, water works if you want it lighter. Hot and iced both hold up.
Can I put it in a smoothie or bake with it?
Yes to both. It behaves like a fine toasted flour, so it folds into oats, yoghurt and pancake batter without fuss.
Ingredients & allergens
What exactly is in it?
Brown rice 32%, white rice 26%, hominy corn 19%, black bean 13%, barley 10%. That is the complete list, and the percentages are printed on the front of the pouch. Every food is explained here.
Does it contain gluten?
Yes. Barley is 10% of the blend, so Misu contains gluten. If you are coeliac, this one is not for you and we would rather tell you here than in a footnote.
Any other allergens?
Misu contains barley and gluten. For other food allergies or facility cross-contact questions, contact support@dailymisu.com before ordering. Check the label on your pouch and on any milk or toppings you use.
Two of the five are rice. Isn’t that a filler?
Fair question. Brown rice is there for fiber and body; white rice is there for texture, and we say so plainly on the ingredients page rather than dressing it up. Neither is a bulking agent bought by the tonne to pad a scoop — they are both roasted individually like everything else.
Is it tested?
For available product testing information, email support@dailymisu.com with the lot number on your pouch. A nutrition analysis is not a heavy-metal or microbiological safety test.
How should I store it?
Reseal the pouch and keep it dry and out of the sun. Follow the best-before date and storage instructions on your pouch.
Orders & shipping
How much does shipping cost?
Nothing on a subscription box, first or fiftieth. A one-time order ships for $4.95.
How fast will it arrive?
Estimated standard delivery is 3–5 business days in the contiguous US. We email you when your order ships, with tracking when available. Full shipping detail here.
Where do you ship?
Across the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. International shipping is not open yet.
Can I change my address after ordering?
For an order already placed, email support@dailymisu.com as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee a change after packing or dispatch. Updating your subscription address in the portal applies to future subscription orders only.
How many pouches should I start with?
One. A pouch is thirty servings, which is exactly long enough to know whether you will keep drinking it.
Subscription
What does it cost after the first box?
One pouch renews at $49 every 30 days. The two-pouch plan renews at $98 every 30 days. Your first box is $35 for one pouch or $70 for three pouches. The free third pouch is first-box only.
When am I charged?
Your first payment is taken at checkout. Later charges follow the next billing date shown in your subscription portal. Billing and shipping are separate; changing or cancelling a subscription affects future renewals, not an order already placed.
How do I skip, pause or cancel?
In your subscription page, with no phone call. You can choose an available delivery date, pause or finish cancelling without accepting an alternative.
Do I keep the scoop and frother if I cancel?
Yes. They are yours. We do not ask for them back and we do not deduct them from a refund.
Can I buy one box without subscribing?
Yes — $49 for a single pouch, delivered once. The subscription is cheaper because it lets us plan the roasts.
Refunds
What if I don’t like it?
Email us within thirty days of your first box arriving and we refund it in full. Not store credit, not a restocking fee, and you do not have to send the pouch back.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email support@dailymisu.com with your order number and a photo of the damage. We will help arrange a replacement or refund. No return is needed for a damaged food pouch.
How long does a refund take?
We process it within two working days. Your bank then takes three to ten to show it, which is unfortunately their timetable and not ours. Full refund policy.
